Department of Corrections Cancels Town Hall Meetings
as Isaac Impacts Florida
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Florida Department of Corrections Secretary Ken Tucker announced today the cancellation of Town Hall Meetings scheduled next week in Orlando and Ft. Pierce due to pending bad weather from what is currently Tropical Storm Isaac.
“The safety of those who would attend is more important to us,” said Secretary Tucker. “We don’t want anyone traveling in bad weather and putting them and their family at risk.”
The Department will reschedule the meetings for sometime in the near future.
So far, the Department has held 10 Town Hall Meetings throughout Florida which have focused on community partnerships and the importance of the re-entry process for offenders.
Rescheduled meeting dates will be posted on the Department’s Re-Entry website.
