Jessica Cary Joins Florida Department of Corrections As Director of Communications
TALLAHASSEE — Department of Corrections Secretary Michael Crews announced that Jessica Cary is the new communications director for the Department's Office of Communications, effective August 19, 2013. Cary has over 20 years of public relations experience in Florida.
"Ms. Cary has a strong professional background both in the private sector and within state government," said Secretary Crews. "I am excited to have her on our team and look forward to working with her."
In addition to her progressively responsible roles in several Florida state agencies, Cary's experience includes management of a small business and working on a variety of client accounts at Hill & Knowlton, a global public relations company.
"The Department of Corrections consists of a tremendously dedicated team of people," said Cary. "I appreciate the opportunity to join them in focusing on a mission of safety and security that contributes to Florida being a great place to live and work."
Cary has a Bachelor of Arts from Florida State University, where she majored in English: Creative Writing and minored in Sociology.
