Correctional Officer Arrested During OIG Investigation

BRISTOL, Fla. –The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) Office of Inspector General (OIG) today arrested Correctional Officer (CO) Rashad Ford during an OIG criminal investigation. Ford has been charged with Introduction of Contraband into a State Correctional Institution and Unlawful Compensation by a Public Official.

Following the arrest, OIG Inspectors transported Ford to the Liberty County Jail. The Office of Inspector General acknowledges the cooperation and assistance provided by the State Attorney’s Office in the 2nd Judicial Circuit.

Though an arrest has been made, an open and active criminal investigation into this incident remains. This is all of the information available at this time.
