Inmate Assaults Correctional Officers at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution
MILTON, Fla. – An inmate attacked several correctional officers Thursday night at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.
Inmate Patrick Corbin (185754)
attacked several officers at approximately 8:48 p.m. Inmate Corbin was being assisted when he began kicking the officers. Despite verbal orders from staff to cease his actions, inmate Corbin dug his fingernails into the arm of a staff member. The officers were able to successfully apply restraints to the inmate, bringing him into compliance.
Medical staff examined the employees and noted scratches to two arms.
Inmate Corbin will receive a disciplinary report for this assault. The Department of Corrections Office of Inspector General will investigate this incident.
An Assault Advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
