FDC Assault Advisories | October 25–31, 2016

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

MALONE, Fla. – On October 25, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Jackson Correctional Institution.

Inmate Scionti Hill (R74681) attacked the correctional officer at approximately 3:55 p.m. CST. Inmate Hill was involved in an incident with another inmate. When officers responded, the inmate struck the officer in the head. Staff took appropriate action, and the inmate was restrained.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted no injuries.

Inmate Hill will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


Florida City, Fla. – On October 25, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Dade Correctional Institution.

Inmate Ramon Torres (H27170) attacked the correctional officer at approximately 6:28 a.m. EST. Inmate Torres struck an officer in the face with a closed fist. When additional staff responded, the inmate remained aggressive and struck the other officers in the head and chest. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined officers involved and noted minor head and eye swelling.

Inmate Torres will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LIVE OAK, Fla. – On October 27, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Suwannee Correctional Institution Annex.

Inmate Cody Newton (U49549) attacked the correctional officer at approximately 3:29 a.m. EST. Inmate Newton took an aggressive stance and became non-compliant. When staff responded, the inmate struck the officer in the shin. Staff took appropriate action, and the inmate became compliant.

Inmate Newton will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


CHIPLEY, Fla. – On October 27, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at North West Florida Reception Center.

Inmate Hernandez Wiley (167667) attacked the correctional officer at approximately 1:43 p.m. CST. Inmate Wiley was refusing orders when he ran at and struck the officer in the head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined officer involved and noted redness on the side of the head.

Inmate Wiley will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


SNEADS, Fla. – On October 27, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Apalachee Correctional Institution East Unit.

Inmate Allen McGriff (126091) attacked the officers at approximately 7:15 p.m. EST. While inmate McGriff refused to enter his cell, he struck and bit at the responding officers. Staff took appropriate action, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the officers involved and noted a bite mark.

Inmate McGriff will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


CLERMONT, Fla. – On October 28, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lake Correctional Institution.

Inmate Amos Walker (M53969) attacked the officer at approximately 8:10 a.m. EST. Inmate Walker became agitated and threw his head into the chest of the officer. Staff took appropriate action, and the inmate was restrained.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted redness on the chest.

Inmate Walker will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


BRISTOL, Fla. – On October 28, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Liberty Correctional Institution.

Inmate Michael Aguilar (T20175) attacked the officer at approximately 12:55 p.m. EST. Inmate Aguilar became agitated and threw a tray that struck the officer in the face. Staff took appropriate action, and the inmate was restrained.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted no injuries.

Inmate Aguilar will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


RAIFORD, Fla. – On October 28, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Florida State Prison.

Inmate Anthony Ash (N22296) attacked the officers at approximately 2:42 p.m. EST. The officers were escorting Inmate Ash when he began kicking them. The inmate refused to cease his actions. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was restrained.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted no injuries.

Inmate Ash will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


WEWAHITCHKA, Fla. – On October 28, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Gulf Correctional Institution.

Inmate Lovett Jones (W21084) assaulted the officer at approximately 7:00 p.m. CST. The officer was obtaining a set of keys when Inmate Jones approached and grabbed the officer inappropriately.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted no injury.

Inmate Jones will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


BRISTOL, Fla. – On October 29, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Liberty Correctional Institution.

Inmate Felix Dozier (E42268) attacked the officer at approximately 2:30 p.m. EST. Inmate Dozier was refusing orders when he charged the officer and struck the officer in the jaw. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted swelling to the jaw.

Inmate Dozier will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


INDIANTOWN, Fla. – On October 30, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Martin Correctional Institution.

Inmate Ray Combs (553333) attacked the officer at approximately 2:33 p.m. EST. Inmate Combs threw a tray that hit one officer in the chest and another in the leg. The inmate also forcefully grabbed an officer’s hand during the incident. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted no injuries.

Inmate Combs will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


RAIFORD, Fla. – On October 30, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison.

Inmate Jason Croff (977340) attached the officer at approximately 7:07 p.m. EST. The officer was escorting Inmate Cross when he jerked his head backward and struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted a damaged nose.

Inmate Croff will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
