FDC Assault Advisories | November 1–7, 2016

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

RAIFORD, Fla. – On November 1, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison.

Inmate Demetrius Allen (145130) attacked the correctional officer at approximately 7:30 p.m. EST. During a pat search, Inmate Allen struck the officer in the temple with his elbow. The inmate became compliant without further incident.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted no injuries.

Inmate Allen will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


RAIFORD, Fla. – On November 3, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison.

Inmate Michael Davis (817809) attacked the correctional officer at approximately 8:35 a.m. EST. Inmate Davis tried to attack another inmate with an icepick, and the officer intervened. The inmate scratched the officer several times with the weapon during the incident. Staff took appropriate action, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted scratches to the forearm and torso.

Inmate Davis will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


MILTON, Fla. – On November 3, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.

Inmate Peter Dunmyer (130363) attacked the correctional officer at approximately 7:39 p.m. CST. Inmate Dunmyer was involved in an altercation with another inmate when he struck the responding officer in the neck. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted swelling to the neck and disorientation.

Inmate Dunmyer will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


OKEECHOBEE, Fla. – On November 3, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Okeechobee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Jose Acevedo (C08659) attacked the correctional officers at approximately 10:58 p.m. EST. Inmate Acevedo abruptly pulled away from his escorting officer, causing pain to the officer’s wrist. When staff responded to subdue the inmate, the inmate kicked another officer. Staff took appropriate action, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted no injuries.

Inmate Acevedo will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


MILTON, Fla. – On November 3, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.

Inmate Phillip Stalnaker (C09863) attacked the correctional officer at approximately 8:50 p.m. CST. Inmate Stalnaker was being escorted when he stabbed the officer in ear with a homemade weapon. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined officer and noted a puncture wound to the ear lobe.

Inmate Stalnaker will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


CLERMONT, Fla. – On November 4, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Lake Correctional Institution.

Inmate Armado Gomez (Y51499) attacked the officer at approximately 6:15 p.m. EST. Inmate Gomez was being transported when he became combative and struck the officer using his head and knee. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the officers involved and noted a scraped elbow.

Inmate Gomez will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LIVE OAK, Fla. – On November 5, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Suwannee Correctional Institution.

Inmate Patrick Deboard (L25900) attacked the officer at approximately 3:15 p.m. EST. Inmate Deboard was in transport when he struck the officer in the groin. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the officers involved and noted a scraped elbow.

Inmate Deboard will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


CRESTVIEW, Fla. – On November 6, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Okaloosa Correctional Institution.

Inmate Zachary Williams (L76131) attacked the officer at approximately 6:15 p.m. CST. Inmate Williams was acting erratically when he kicked an officer in the shin and punched another officer in the leg. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the officers and noted no injuries.

Inmate Williams will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
