FDC Assault Advisories | November 22–28, 2016

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

LAKE CITY, Fla. – On November 22, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Columbia Correctional Institution.

Inmate Silas Deaton (148718) attacked the officers at approximately 12:55 p.m. EDT. Inmate Deaton refused to submit to restraint commands and struck one officer in the chin. As additional staff responded, Inmate Deaton grasped another officer by the throat.

Medical staff examined the injured officers and noted a scraped arm and a chin abrasion.Inmate Deaton will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


RAIFORD, Fla. – On November 22, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at the Florida Women’s Reception Center.

Inmate Genie Cohen (M53138) attacked the officer at approximately 2:49 p.m. EDT. After causing a disturbance and becoming non-compliant, the inmate pushed a cell flap into the officer’s head.

Inmate Cohen will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


INDIANTOWN, Fla. – On November 22, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Martin Correctional Institution.

Inmate Andrew Moss (B13384) attacked the officer at approximately 6:55 p.m. EDT. The inmate approached the officer and began striking and pushing the officer’s head into a wall. Additional staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the injured officer and noted bruising to the face, back check and arms. Inmate Moss will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


LAKE BUTLER, Fla. – On November 23, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at the Reception and Medical Center.

Inmate Trammel Allen (T28216) attacked the officer at approximately 2:15 p.m. EDT. The inmate became aggressive and struck the officer in the face. Additional staff responded appropriately.

Medical staff examined the injured officer and noted redness to the face. Inmate Allen will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – On November 23, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Tomoka Correctional Institution.

Inmate Roland Williams (L71455) attacked the officer at approximately 2:55 p.m. EDT. Inmate Williams became disorderly and was being restrained when he kicked backwards against a wall and struck the officer with his shoulders. Staff took appropriate action and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the injured officer and noted an abrasion to the elbow. Inmate Williams will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


SNEADS, Fla. – On November 24, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Apalachee Correctional Institution East.

Inmate Paul White (126756) attacked the officer at approximately 8:38 p.m. CDT. Inmate White was causing a disturbance when he refused commands and struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the injured officer and noted redness and swelling to the face. Inmate White will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


ORLANDO, Fla. – On November 27, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at the Central Florida Reception Center.

Inmate Yasmany Diaz-Guerra (T47067) attacked the officer at approximately 2:30 p.m. EDT. Inmate Diaz-Guerra became combative and struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Inmate Diaz-Guerra will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


PUNTA GORDA, Fla. – On November 28, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Charlotte Correctional Institution.

Inmate Darryl Hodges (B01150) attacked the officers at approximately 10:00 a.m. EDT. Inmate Hodges was in escort when he became non-compliant and began an altercation with the officers. During the incident, he kicked an officer in the ribs and caused another officer to suffer a knee injury. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the injured officers and noted an injured knee. Inmate Hodges will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
