FDC Assault Advisories | November 29 – December 5, 2016

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

LAKE CITY, Fla. – On November 29, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Columbia Annex.

Inmate Holmes Deadreart (T68463) attacked the officers at approximately 3:20 p.m. EDT. Inmate Deadreart became combative after an incident with other inmates and bit the officer on the leg. Staff responded appropriately and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the injured officer and noted a bite mark on the leg. Inmate Deadreart will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


SNEADS, Fla. – On December 1, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Apalachee Correctional Institution East Unit.

Inmate Carter Brandon (P35724) attacked the officer at approximately 4:10 p.m. CDT. Inmate Brandon took an aggressive stance and charged at staff, striking one officer in the shoulder and another officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Inmate Brandon will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


RAIFORD, Fla. – On December 1, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Union Correctional Institution.

Inmate Brown Alfonso (C08231) attacked the officer at approximately 7:00 p.m. EDT. While being prepared for escort, Inmate Alfonso struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate became compliant.

Medical staff examined the injured officer and noted bruising to the arm and redness to the face. Inmate Alfonso will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


BLOUNTSTOWN, Fla. – On December 3, an inmate assaulted correctional officers at Calhoun Correctional Institution.

Inmate Terrence Burks (X27236) attacked the officers at approximately 5:32 p.m. CDT. The inmate became disorderly and repeatedly struck one officer in the face and head. As additional staff responded, Inmate Burks remained non-compliant and combative. Staff responded appropriately, and there was no further incident.

Medical staff examined the injured officers and noted scratches to the face, two swollen eyes and scratches on an arm. Inmate Burks will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
