FDC Assault Advisories | March 21 - 27, 2017

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.

RAIFORD, Fla. – On March 21, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida State Prison.

Inmate Genard Chestnut (130146) assaulted the officer at approximately 11:30 a.m. EST. Inmate Chestnut was in escort when he head-butted the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Chestnut will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


CENTURY, Fla. – On March 22, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Century Correctional Institution.

Inmate Michael Corrales (V24382) assaulted the officer at approximately 6:10 p.m. CST. Inmate Corrales struck the officer several times in the face and head. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Corrales will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – On March 22, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Tomoka Correctional Institution.

Inmate Terrence Watkins (542428) assaulted the officer at approximately 3:40 p.m. EST. Inmate Watkins elbowed the officer in the upper body and placed his hands around the officer’s neck. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Watkins will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


OCALA, Fla. – On March 23, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Florida Women’s Reception Center.

Inmate Heather Kelly (H49439) assaulted the officer at approximately 10:56 a.m. EST. Inmate Kelly kicked the officer in the left knee. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Kelly will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


CHIPLEY, Fla. – On March 18, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Northwest Florida Reception Center Annex.

Inmate Demontarivo Robinson (N25501) assaulted the officer at approximately 11:40 p.m. CST. Inmate Robinson struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Robinson will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


RAIFORD, Fla. – On March 25, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Union Correctional Institution.

Inmate Jeremy Luckett (126653) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:17 p.m. CST. Inmate Luckett grabbed the officer’s arm and twisted it at the elbow. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Luckett will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


MILTON, Fla. – On March 26, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.

Inmate Mitchell Harrison (I09126) assaulted the officer at approximately 10:00 a.m. CST. Inmate Harrison struck the officer in the hand with a homemade weapon. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Harrison will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.


CARRABELLE, Fla. – On March 26, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Franklin Correctional Institution.

Inmate Joshua Heard (C08896) assaulted the officer at approximately 3:31 p.m. EST. Inmate Heard struck the officer in the shoulder with his hand. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.

Medical staff examined the officer and noted minor injuries. Inmate Heard will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
