This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty.
PERRY, Fla. – On July 22, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Taylor Correctional Institution.
Inmate Trevor Brazill (W43127) assaulted the officer at approximately 9:06 a.m. Inmate Brazill struck the officer in the face. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Brazill will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
LOWELL, Fla. – On July 24, an inmate assaulted a correctional officer at Marion Correctional Institution.
Inmate Barrett Alexander (K82474) assaulted the officer at approximately 5:40 a.m. Inmate Alexander became combative and struck the officer in the head with a closed fist. Staff responded appropriately, and the inmate was subdued.
Medical staff examined the officer and noted injuries. Inmate Alexander will receive a disciplinary report for this assault.
