FDC ASSAULT ADVISORIES | March 14 – March 20, 2024

This is a report of assault advisories that occurred during the specified timeframe. An assault advisory is issued by the Department of Corrections whenever a correctional officer or probation officer is attacked in the line of duty. All assaults are investigated, and disciplinary action is imposed in accordance with policy.

Union Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, March 20, Inmate Odell Lee (K79438) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer’s arms. The incident was captured on camera.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On Wednesday, March 20, Inmate Michael Dorreio-Barrett (W31839) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer’s fingers. The incident was captured on camera.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, March 19, Inmate Carlos Figueroa (X86053) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Desoto Annex: On Tuesday, March 19, Inmate Devon Andrews (G09406) assaulted a contracted staff member by pinching the employee’s arms.

Lowell Annex: On Tuesday, March 19, Inmate Christina Maxwell (A70008) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the chest. The incident was captured on camera.

Wakulla Annex: On Tuesday, March 19, Inmate Sean Emke (S30118) assaulted a correctional officer by throwing a bag, striking the officer’s legs. The incident was captured on camera.

Florida Women’s Reception Center: On Tuesday, March 19, Inmate Kristi Ferrell (P59033) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the arm. The incident was captured on camera.

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, March 19, Inmate Ronnell Lowe (Y80168) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer’s arms. The incident was captured on camera.

Lowell Annex: On Tuesday, March 19, Inmate Brianna Armour (P53584) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, March 19, Inmates Jerry Jackson (X45682) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, March 19, Inmates Herbert Michel (W40565) and Rene Myles (T58095) assaulted multiple correctional officers. The incident was captured on camera.

Santa Rosa Annex: On Tuesday, March 19, Inmate James Kelly (403326) assaulted a correctional officer by biting the officer’s hands. The incident was captured on camera.

Jackson Correctional Institution: On Tuesday, March 19, Inmate Charles Miller (122580) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the face. The incident was captured on camera.

Central Florida Reception Center: On Monday, March 18, Inmate Lazaro Gomez (R35811) assaulted a correctional officer by pushing the officer’s hands.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Monday, March 18, Inmate Wesley Dorvil (Y47973) assaulted two correctional officers by pushing the officers. The incident was captured on camera.

Santa Rosa Annex: On Monday, March 18, Inmate Larry Moore (P90067) assaulted a correctional officer by grabbing the officer by the wrist. The incident was captured on camera.

Okaloosa Correctional Institution: On Monday, March 18, Inmate Brandon Knittle (D42394) assaulted a correctional officer by kicking the officer in the abdomen. The incident was captured on camera.

Wakulla Annex: On Sunday, March 17, Inmate Carl Telusma (Y56467) assaulted a correctional officer by kicking the officer in the leg. The incident was captured on camera.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On Sunday, March 17, Inmate Andre Gomez (U29864) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On Sunday, March 17, Inmate Desmond Simpson (W70936) assaulted a correctional officer by shoving the officer.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, March 16, Inmate Frederick Roberts (Y02100) assaulted a correctional officer by twisting the officer’s hands. The incident was captured on camera.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Saturday, March 16, Inmate Chase Sharpe (T86728) assaulted a correctional officer by striking the officer in the face.

Okaloosa Correctional Institution: On Saturday, March 16, Inmate Gregory Miller (540488) assaulted a correctional officer by punching the officer in the face. The incident was captured on camera.

Florida State Prison: On Saturday, March 16, Inmate Tyris Hawkins (G21150) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Desoto Annex: On Friday, March 15, Inmate Markess Sherman (M57688) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Hardee Correctional Institution: On Friday, March 15, Inmate Michael Johnson (C00385) assaulted a correctional officer by cutting the officer’s legs. The incident was captured on camera.

Charlotte Correctional Institution: On Thursday, March 14, Inmate Markuice Leaks (B12205) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Hamilton Annex: On Thursday, March 14, Inmate Juan Fernandez (T11547) assaulted a correctional officer by kicking the officer in the leg. The incident was captured on camera.

Jackson Correctional Institution: On Thursday, March 14, Inmate Brandon Whittaker (B81856) assaulted a correctional officer. The incident was captured on camera.

Apalachee Correctional Institution: On Thursday, March 14, Inmate Cornelius Henderson (G26564) assaulted two correctional officers by pushing the officers. The incident was captured on camera.
