VISITOR CONTRABAND INTERDICTION | March 14 – March 20, 2024

TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Reception and Medical Center: On Sunday, March 17, visitor Sameria Gainey was visiting Inmate Dequan Wright (S50462) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered one handgun and eight rounds of ammunition. The visitation was terminated.

Okeechobee Correctional Institution: On Sunday, March 17, visitor Latrice Geer was visiting Inmate Charles Walker (X14142) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered one handgun and five rounds of ammunition. The visitation was terminated.

Desoto Annex: On Sunday, March 17, visitor Manousheka Joseph was visiting Inmate Keith Smith (L51326) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered three condoms, and the visitation was terminated.

Reception and Medical Center: On Sunday, March 17, visitor Jonathan Young was visiting Inmate Christopher Pinson (G14742) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Lawtey Correctional Institution: On Saturday, March 16, visitor Delorna Culver was visiting Inmate Andrew Woodruff (U13675) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered marijuana residue, and the visitation was terminated.

Martin Work Camp: On Saturday, March 16, visitor Rose Nogueras was visiting Inmate Christopher Bellamy (R40477) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. A search was refused, and the visitation was terminated.

Florida State Prison: On Saturday, March 16, visitor Breona Vernet was visiting Inmate Cedric Oliphant (L77146) when a K9 alerted to the visitor’s vehicle. Staff discovered one handgun and eight rounds of ammunition. The visitation was terminated.
