Visitor Contraband Interdiction | March 23 - March 29, 2023

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) has zero tolerance for contraband of any kind, and visitors attempting to introduce contraband are subject to suspension or termination of their visitation privileges and arrest.

Martin Correctional Institution: On March 25, staff discovered a visitor to be in possession of 137.2 grams of Bath salts and 24.9 grams of Marijuana concealed on her person inside the institution. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.

Franklin Correctional Institution: On March 26, staff observed a visitor attempting to conceal a package for an inmate. The package was recovered, which included 51.7 grams of crack cocaine and 24.9 grams of K2. Subsequently, staff discovered the inmate to be in possession of a package of narcotics. The visitation was terminated. The visitor was arrested.
